Gabriel Werder, MD was born and raised outside Detroit, Michigan. His undergraduate education was in Biomedical Engineering, in which he earned a degree from Syracuse University in New York. He then studied medicine at St. Christopher’s College of Medicine in England, the home of his then-fiancé, Karen. After marrying during medical school, the young couple welcomed three sons during Dr. Werder’s Residency in Diagnostic Radiology, which was completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. After becoming a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Werder went on to subspecialize in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, completing a fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Since then, Dr. Werder has served as a Professor of Radiology at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine/Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and then at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. The Werder family is overjoyed to continue their southward migration to Atlanta, where they’ve settled in East Cobb. Their free time is largely dedicated to youth athletics, as the children are very active in baseball, lacrosse, swimming, football, and basketball. Dr. Werder’s areas of expertise include management of dialysis fistulae/grafts, treatment of venous disease/vascular access, IVC filter placement/retrieval, uterine fibroid embolization, peripheral arterial disease, kyphoplasty for spinal compression fractures, and nerve blockade for migraine headaches.
